GATEWAY TO DISCOVERY
VRWAY’s Channels — arteries to fresh Web content
by Karen Guthry

Today companies on the Net recognise that visibility doesn’t suffice to guarantee ongoing readership. Surfers need to be engaged and nurtured in order to ensure their continued loyalty to a site. Nonetheless, coming across content that is nourishing and fresh within the context of online publications, seems as elusive as finding byodinamic food on the shelves of a seven-eleven supermarket.

We have already witnessed the demise of many flash-in-the-pan dotcoms that were swept up in the digital economy’s nose-dive, unable to deliver what they had so enthusiastically advertised. What matters is not so much the “what if” but the “what is”. What ensures a company’s survival on the Net depends largely on the relevant and timely delivery of content to an audience.

The ability to produce quality content is a valuable commodity in the information age. An ability that requires skill and is akin to an alchemical process. Thanks to their networks of professional writers and translators, content providers everywhere are striking gold with online companies keen on survival.

In the VRWAY Experience, products and services on offer are complemented by thematic channels, which enhance the site’s content with information about events, art and culture, travel, people and geographical locations around the world. In the Events channel for instance, surfers may visit the Salone del Mobile in Milan or the Geneva Motor Show. There’s a whole range of subjects on various areas of interest, which are constantly expanding.

What’s most exciting about Channels though, is that it offers surfers seamless, immersive experiences of the real world. Whatever your area of interest, you can explore real-life places, stroll through a city’s streets, enter an exhibition area or even a shop, the possibilities of thematic channel surfing are endless.
