MUSICBOX
by Michelle Bienias

Our Interactive Collective (OIC) launches a unique music delivery system, The MusicBox , which presents a full album's worth of music in mpeg4 or mp3. While you listen to the song you can play with VR movies which are like little music videos for each song...entertainment stuff. A new way to package music and a cool way to play with music online. The MusicBox offers a multi-sensory visual audio experience using QuickTime.

Our Interactive Collective consists of multi-talented digital craftsman Robert West, VR photographer Janie Fitzgerald of Axis Images in Los Angeles, and Michael Shaff of Small Hands who does extensive QuickTime wiring.

“Over the past eight years I’ve worked on many QTVR projects with Janie Fitzgerald”, says Robert West, who crafted the MusicBox project. “I had done projects that join VR with music for a long time and had the opportunity to put a whole album’s worth of music to VR, it was a logical progression of many past projects”.

With the release of Superfluid’s first album, ‘Nightfall at the Crashsite’, Our Interactive Collective launches this unique music delivery system. Check out MusicBox at the OIC website, and Rock the Box.
