VIRTUAL TOUR OF MILAN'S PRINCIPE DI SAVOIA HOTEL
by Michelle Bienias

Located in Milan’s business center, the five star Hotel Principe di Savoia is renowned as the focal point of the Piazza della Repubblica. Guests will appreciate the charm, personal attention, elegance, privacy, and exquisite house cuisine. The grand main entrance with its circular driveway is a welcoming gateway to 404 richly appointed rooms and suites, furnished in elegant 19th century Lombard style, and to an unforgettable stay in Milan. Because of its central location, it is conveniently accessible from everywhere in the city: the hotel is just five minutes from the Stazione Centrale, the central railway station and the city center and only two subway stops from the Duomo.

History:
Construction of the historical core of the Principe di Savoia dates back to 1927 and the hotel has been renovated several times since then and now takes up an entire block. In 2000, the hotel took over and completely renovated the Duca di Milano and built a connecting bridge. Recent improvements were made to the rooms and the fitness center and swimming pool were added.

In 2003, the prestigious Dorchester Group (which operates the Dorchester in London as well as the Meurice and Plaza Athenee in Paris) bought the hotel from Starwood. The Hotel is internationally known and attracts sovereigns, business magnates and celebrities while boasting past luminaries such as Ingrid Berman, Rudolph Nureyev, Charlie Chaplin, Joesphine Baker, Maria Callas and the Duke of Windsor.

Amenities:
The Hotel Principe di Savoia offers a vast array of services as would be expected of Milan's oldest and most well renowned five star hotel. The hotel is fully air conditioned, staffed 24 hours a day and is close to one of the most fashionable shopping areas in the world. The rooms are comfortably air-conditioned and well appointed, with large bathrooms, good window light and the amenities one expects to find in such a well-run hotel.

- Café Doney offers breakfast, lunch and afternoon tea.
- Winter Garden bar.
- Club 10 Fitness and Beauty Center
