What: The Young St. Bridge in Aberdeen, Washington. Also known as Kurt Cobain’s bridge. Bohonus created two panoramas of the bridge – the first is a view from the bridge itself, the second pano is taken underneath the bridge, where Cobain reportedly lived for at least several days in his youth.

Why: “This is a VR done of the Young St. Bridge in Aberdeen, Washington,” Bohonus. “This may be known to fans of Seattle's Kurt Cobain and the band Nirvana, as this was the bridge not far from his early home in Aberdeen, WA. Kurt lived under this bridge for a time when he was 15 and frequented it as a ‘hang out’ of sorts as well. His experiences living under this bridge were the basis for the Nirvana song ‘Something's In the Way’.

”As Kurt was cremated and his ashes dispersed, there exists no ‘memorial’ or other such place for those to visit and remember Kurt other than perhaps the Lake Washington Park near his prior residence and this bridge in his home town of Aberdeen, WA. From talking to neighbors near the bridge, visitors come from around the world to this destination quite often.”

Excerpt from an interview with Kurt Cobain by James Crotty in Monk Magazine, October 1992.

Jim: Tell me about Aberdeen. That's where you grew up, right?

Kurt: Aberdeen, it's a coastal town about 100 miles away from Seattle. It's a really small place. A very small community with a lot of people who have very small minds. Basically if you're not prepared to join the logging industry, you're going to be beaten up or run out of town.

[later in the interview]

Monk: Wonderful, wonderful. Looking back at Aberdeen do you have a place that was the quintessential Aberdeen place for you?

Kurt: The bridge of Aberdeen going over to the south side of Aberdeen. I used to hang out with the bums and share Thunderbird wine with them underneath the bridge.

Monk: Would they recognize you if you went back today?

Kurt: Oh absolutely, if they're still alive. There's a little tent bum community there. They live in tents and just drink wine and roast marshmallows.

Monk: And hang out under the bridge.

Kurt Cobain died April 5, 1994.
