VIRTUAL TOUR OF DESIGN STORE MC SELVINI, MILAN
by Michelle Bienias

MC SELVINI is a reference point for Danish and Scandinavian design-furniture in all of Italy. For the past eighty years, the Danish school of design has created and produced remarkable shapes and ideas, thanks to the contribution of an extraordinary series of designer such as Kaare Klint, Mogens Koch, Finn Juhl, Mogens Lassen, Ole Wanscher, Hans J. Wegner, Arne Jacobsen, Poul Volther, Børge Mogensen, Poul Kjaerholm, Nanna Ditzel, Rud Thygesen, Johnny Sørensen, Alfred Homann, Niels Gammelgaard, Lars Mathiesen, Johannes Foersom, Peter Hiort Lorenzen, Hans Sandgren Jakobsen and Kasper Salto.

With the exception of the Finnish Eero Aarnio collection, MC SELVINI has focused its attention entirely on Danish design-furniture.

Some of the products are well known to the Italian public, while others are practically unknown because of the limited production rate and scarce diffusion. Most of the pieces of furniture are so-called transversal products, because they are suitable for both residential and contract use. Naturally the selection of the furniture offered is of the highest quality.

MC SELVINI was founded in 1926 and has been a family-owned company ever since. The company is now in the hands of the fourth generation.

The MC SELVINI Virtual Tour is comprised of two panoramas of the design store. The virtual tour is available in three formats – Fullscreen QTVR (recommended for those with a high-speed connection), QTVR medium (recommended for those with a dial-up connection) and Java (recommended for those with QuickTime), and is available in both English and Italian.
