VICTORIAN HOUSE OF CURIOSITIES
Steve's Weird House of Curiosities
by Michelle Bienias

Photographer: Bradford Bohonus of VRSeattle

When: June 2006

Where: Seattle, Washington

What: Steve’s Weird House
Bradford Bohonus has been shooting a very unusual Victorian house in Seattle belonging to a collector of the odd, interesting and weird. Where to start, with the Siamese twin goats or the painting on the head of a pin? How about the wreaths woven from human hair? Or any of the many skulls, bones and skeletons? Antique coffins, embalmer tools, two-faced kittens and thousands upon thousands of books, from autographed science fiction first editions to antique erotica and sexology books. It’s impossible to describe the collection amassed in this Victorian home in Seattle. You must view the panos to drink it all in. Every room of Steve’s Victorian two-story home, including the basement, is chock-a-block with pieces of his vast collection: the bathrooms, the kitchen, the bedrooms, the office, even the tree house, where there’s an old guillotine with a skull perched on top.

Bohonus says there are another dozen rooms similar to this one shown in the panorama filled to the rafters. “From twin headed calves and strange things floating in jars, first edition signed sci-fi books, the worlds smallest mummy, the worlds first arcade game, countless statues and things of curiosity, movie props, antiques, etc.,” Bohonus writes. “Everywhere you turn is something to be unexpected. People have been trying to describe this house for years- you just ‘had to see it’. A location that really only VR can capture!”
