HOLIDAY DREAM Krisztina Imre's family in a car watching scenes of 5 continents with music. by Marco Trezzini
Photographer: Krisztina Imre, from panoramablog.eu . When: September, 23, 2006. Where: The images were taken in a car, in her backyard. Why: Krisztina created this panorama for the World Wide Panorama 'Transportation' event. The idea came from an old dream, which she kept alive for years: take her family, a camper, their panoramic photo equipment and start a journey of discovery, which never ends .... click here to view Holiday Dream panorama How, Technical details: Nikon d200, Nikkor 10.5mm and our 360precision head mounted on a MNO55PROB PRO tripod.Krisztina told me that the greatest challenge was getting the cooperation of the "models", her children. Moreover, it took some efforts to squeeze the tripod between the seats. "The older one got bored quickly and the little one had no idea on what was going on. My daughter, mother of the little one, accepted our request to bring a smile and a look of interest onto the face of the children, by jumping up and down outside the car's windows. This worked particularly well for the sunroof, in fact in the final panorama the children appear to be looking at the dolphin". She chose the shortest possible exposure in order to freeze the continuously moving children. The images representing the five continents were inserted later, using Photoshop. Krisztina has been enjoying photography since she was very young. Along with her first camera, she also aquired a black-and-white lab, so that she could develop her own images. Later, she aquired a professional color lab, which counted as a rarity in Hungary at the time. She worked for and with professional photographers, and had therefore the chance to learn many tricks. The advent of digital photography opened up a lot of new possibilities. Soon she fell in love with panoramic photography. Since relevant informations were very limited in Hungary, it took a lot of effort, many experiments and intensive internet research to learn the techniques. She's in particular very grateful to those kind spirits who provided help through numerous online forums. In 2006, Andras Frenyo of panoramablog.com asked her to part-take in the Sziget 2006 Media Farm project. Once again, Krisztina received lots of help and had a great opportunity to learn from the talented participants. The Sziget project also continued in 2007. Luckily, Krisztina's husband is just as passionate about photography as she is, so they never have an argument about how to spend their spare money: photo equipment. They collaborate on the content of their Hungarian panoramic photo blog, panoramablog.eu. The blog allows to find each panorama through Google Map markers on the site. |
