How / Technical details: Nikon P5000, Gyorome 8 (Door Scope Fisheye), PTGui7.3, Pano2QTVR Pro, Photoshop CS3.

Once upon a time, genies lived inside bottles.

What if you could understand why a freed Genie outside a bottle was more than eager to transform all your dreams into reality? ...Living in a cramped space, with a blurred and often non existant panorama, just a small hole to get some fresh air...
Just step into the Genie' s shoes, and you will notice that - actually - either converting a street urchin into a prince, or somebody in the most powerful being on Earth was a necessary evil if one was to (or at least was hoping to ) be released...

Taken by the photographer Yoshiyuki Kaneko, this panorama required a good sum of luck. The glass bottles of Coke could have been opened with the use of a dentist's drill, but Yoshiyuki tried his chances by dividing them with an hammer. Out of four, two bottles miraculously survived, even mantaining a nice shape.

The lens "Gyorome 8" is a 180 degrees Micro Fisheye lens "Gyorome-8", which is usually used to check who's knocking outside a door. Yoshiyuki inclined the lens by 45°, in order to separately shot first the lower half of the bottle, and then the upper half.

Oh yes. the Genie has been granted freedom....

Yoshiyuki Kaneko's works can be seen at his web site , where he even hosts a manual about virtual shots and techniques. But to master his techs, the instructions aren't enough. You must be skilled in Japanese, too.
