DISHWASHER CLAUSTROPHOBIA Get inside a dishwasher. by Marco Trezzini
Photographer: Robert Serra of RobertSerra.com. When: In October 2007. Where: At my apartment, in the Kitchen. click here to get inside the dishwasher Why: As I already described in issue 28 (see "Inside a Washing Mashine" hotlist section), I love shooting claustrophobic panoramas for fun and for learning. To continue the series of household machines, I thought that the dishwasher would be the perfect challenge. Actually it was a nightmare - starting from choosing a good light to finding the correct no-parallax setup, the project was very tricky. At the end I'm not very happy with the light (to bright) and also the different plates, pans and glasses could be nicer (they were shot spontaneous, as is), but I already did three shootings with different setups and I just don't have the nerves to do it again. How, technical details: Canon EOS 5D, Nikkor 10.5 mm Fisheye. Can you guess how the camera was set up? The pictures were aligned and stitched manually. After the stitching I did a extensive retouching in Photoshop CS2 of different layered files. All in all it was about 12 hours of work.Robert Serra is a panoramic photographer and media designer for print & producer of interactive QuicktimeVR Movies and Scenes for more than 10 years.
