FIGHTING MALARIA A great project to awaken interest in Health issues by Gioia del Colle Panoramic images declined into social project are still a rare breed. But just a short after his Fighting AIDS, Mickael Therer embarks upon a new one, in order to show Médecins Sans Frontières' work in Mali and - to be more precise - in the region of Southern Bamako, where malaria is endemic. The images, which are equipped with texts and sounds, form either a poetical evidence of malaria (if it's ever possible) or a proof of the action undertaken by MSF, supporting health centres, providing free medical care for those unlucky women and children affected by the virus, which has become - during the years - stronger than ever. click here to view the siteToday, the same drugs used in the past to fight malaria can do nothing against the disease. Misuses and cheap versions of the pharmaceutical just grew the virus stronger and people in Mali - weren't for MSF - would be left fighting a battle which is lost at the beginning. MSF tries to help those people who risk their life on a everyday basis, providing medical treatments and giving access to ACT, the newest drug synthesized against malaria, meanwhile collecting the money to aid its patients who cannot bear either the cost of the treatment or of a medical consultation. Well, it's thanks to Mickael Therer that we have the chance to discover all that within a simple project - but for sure of great impact - which provides in the meanwhile the right information and the right means to sensibilize the reader.
