Il brano costituisce l"antenato" del famosissimo canto natalizio "Tu scendi dalle stelle". Fu composto da sant'Alfonso Maria de' Liguori (1696-1787), grande teologo moralista e poi vescovo. La lingua usata è l'antico dialetto napoletano. Il brano descrive il rinnovamento di tutta la natura in occasione della nascita di Gesù.
