I should give you an idea of my first encounter with Panobrella. It was late May and, even though spring should have been there, weather was cold or - even better - horrific. It was raining all the time and, on the road to work, my garments had gone wet. Then, I entered into the office I share with Marco and he looked puzzlingly at me, brandished something, open it and said "maybe you need a Panobrella?!". When I saw it, I started laughing: as any panoaddicted, I could only think that Panobrella was amazingly beautiful.
Now, imagine a foggy, rainy day and imagine that the colorless cityscape isn't the only panoramic you're offered. Tilt your head and...well, - above your head - the sun is shining.
Oh yes, panoramic images are the key: The shots are projected - by specially developed techniques - inside the umbrella.
With its diameter of 98 cm, the umbrella is king size. Moreover, its lift is automatic and the double layered canopy is first class quality.
Conceived by Guido Homberger, the Panobrella is produced by Strotz, a leading umbrella's factory, with a tradition of over 150 years. The umbrellas are sold at the "Schweizer Heimatwerk" shop in Zürich.
Even though the process is doable on panoramic images, the developer affirmed that not every panorama is well suited for a Panobrella, since the main subject has to be close and bottom up, without too much sky. When choosing the locations, he was hence checking them through a transparent plastic umbrella...
The fact anyhow, doesn't change the most important things: Panobrella protects you from the rain and Panobrella makes you forget foggy days, which will be a moment of the past, by enveloping you in a 360° world: you can start singing under the rain!
