When design meets VR: Panoramalampe See the world from without with the Panoramalampe. by Marco Trezzini If you have got bored with your living room, time has come to change something. You could change the furniture, the shade on the walls, the paintings or go for something completely new and... grab the world within you home. How, is quite easy: with a Panoramalampe. Conceived by young German designer Dirk Arendt-Maiwald and multimedia developer and photographic engineer Chris Witzani, the Panolampe is a "must have" for anyone addicted to virtual photography. Produced by Schnurstracks, IM Keramik & Form, the Panoramalampe is a table top ceramic lamp, whose lampshade has a panoramic UV-resistant Duratrans photo quality foil, with a diameter of 35 centimeters. On it, any 360° image you like (among which the interactive panoramas that Dirk Arendt and Chris Witzani developed), with the idea in mind that you can add perspectives to you home or office. Digital life encounters hence the unique aesthetic tastes of the owner of a Panoramalampe; an owner who can change the lampshade transparencies and bring then something new to his environment. But the principle goes even further, and applies to candles too with the Panokandela. The product is currently available in Cologne at the lamp shop "Schiffgen licht", but orders can be passed online directly from the two young panoaddicted who conceived this brand new product back in 2004. Moreover, if you are interested in a demonstration of the product, you can visit Dirk Arendt-Maiwald and Chris Witzani's office, located in Schnurgasse 45 in 50676 Cologne, by arranging a meeting by phone ++49 221 4692153. click here to view panorama click here to view panoramaSpecial thanks to Will Pearson and and Mr. Kaneko for allowing to use their panoramas.
