ENERGY, A WORLD WIDE PANORAMA EVENT by Michelle Bienias During the days following the Equinox (the date when day and night are of equal length) of September 21/22, 2005 more than 200 photographers located around the globe produced panoramic photographs with the theme of "Energy". These amazing digital images give you the ability to look around in all directions from each unique location.I love the new random panorama function, definitely my favorite way of viewing the site. It’s interesting to view objects we use but rarely, if ever, see from the inside. A number of photographers chose this unique perspective for their Energy panos. Click to view site

Andy Savage, Masson Mills Textile Museum Matlock Bath, Derbyshire, England, UKAndy Savage chose to portray how energy is used by man, in this case Mason Mill, built in 1783 and particularly noteworthy because it is where Richard Arkwright began his cotton spinning mill, which created a huge industry in Derbyshire and the Midlands. Arkwright developed the factory system and is known as “The Father of the Factory System”. Today the mill is a working textile museum. Savage provides a helpful description of the VR as you pan around and sound to recreate the mill workers’ experience. Well worth a visit. http://geoimages.berkeley.edu/wwp905/html/AndySavage.html
