JOOK LEUNG'S 360 DEGREES WORKSHOP IN MAINE Stop seeing the world through a frame. by Jook Leung "I will be leading a week long workshop in the art of shooting 360VR panoramas at the Maine Media Workshops next month in Rockport, Maine - April 20 - 26 and Aug 10 - Aug 16. This is an opportunity to acquire the skills to do it well and use the same equipment and techniques that I use in my client work." Digital imaging and Apple Computer’s Quicktime vr have now made this all-seeing imaging format widely accessible. Electronically, 360 degrees Virtual Reality panoramas are seen as virtual tours on the internet by creating an interactive immersive virtual viewing environment. For print, the ultra wide vistas offer a fresh new 360° perspective of environments and spaces.
In this workshop, participants get a hands-on introduction to the tools, methods and advanced techniques that change the way one visualizes, shoots and presents 360° panoramas. Learn about creating virtual tours for the e-commerce industry. Participants also learn about new image projections that translate panoramas into an infinite world of new visual interpretations. This comprehensive workshop covers camera and lens choices, setups for shooting panoramas with regular digital cameras, image capture techniques for 360° panoramas, aesthetic considerations, processing, stitching and editing the 360° image, and finally presenting the images for the web and print. Participants work with their own digital cameras, using ultra-wide angle and fisheye lenses and then assemble the panorama from a series of overlapping images using a variety of stitching software products. Photo-editing and remapping software is used to process final panoramic images. You can register for the course here.
