HOW TO MAKE A QUICKTIME VR IN 10 MINUTES A Video Tutorial by Eric Rougier by Michelle Bienias Yes, it’s true; this terrific video by Paris-based photographer Eric Rougier takes you through the paces of producing a panorama, from shooting with a tripod to the final product, in ten well-used minutes that will be a godsend for beginners in particular. Rougier uses a 360 Precision Head, PTMac, Cubic Converter and Photoshop and goes through these motions while the computer screen displays the software steps; in the background, a plum British voice explains the workflow. (It also includes some comic relief as Rougier does his Keith Richards impression while waiting for the files to process.) Rougier wanted to share the video with the community of “photo-panoramists” and beginners, as the described workflow is the same for most hardware and software. “At the beginning it was just a joke to explain to a friend how to make a QTVR,” explains Eric Rougier. “After the first little French version, a lot of people wrote me to help with FinalCut tips (Frederic Sanuy), voiceover recording (Robert Haddock), translation (Christine Collier-Roberts), corrections (Irgen Nafets).”
